Ease Of Application
Our glitter heat transfer vinyl is very easy to apply. Like any HTV, the adhesive will be activated once heat and pressure are applied to it. Simply choose a design and finalize it on the software that comes with your cutting machine. Do not forget to mirror the design. Once the dimensions are set, place a piece of vinyl slightly bigger than the design on the cutting mat and let the machine carve the design.
Do not forget to keep the settings we have provided for a perfect cut. Once you have the carved design, weed off extra vinyl until you’re left with the desired image. You can use the weeding tools available with us such as a tweezer, weeder, or a weeding pen, whatever you are comfortable with. It’s a thin and lightweight material, so you’ll find this step very easy.
It is recommended to pre-wash and pre-press the fabric before applying the HTV design as this will remove extra moisture. Do not use harsh detergent or fabric softener. Pre-washing is important especially if you are using cotton as it tends to shrink. Place your design on the fabric where you want it to be with the shiny side facing upwards. Cover it with a Teflon sheet or parchment paper. This prevents the vinyl from burning or warping.
Apply heat and pressure to it in a heat press. Use the settings we have provided with the vinyl package for flawless adherence. When the time is up, remove the parchment paper and the carrier sheet. Your amazing work is ready to win praise.
If you are using the household iron, place your shirt with our glitter vinyl design on a hard surface that can bear the pressure applied. Do not use an ironing board. Place parchment paper on top of the design and press the iron onto it. Wait for about 10-15 seconds before moving on to the next section of the design. Make sure that the whole design receives ample heat and pressure. It’s as simple as that!
Always test the vinyl on a small area before applying it to the final project to avoid any mishaps or damage. If you follow these steps correctly, the adhesive will securely bond to the compatible fabric, and you'll be able to transform many mundane garments into exquisite works of art.
